Nick Gill
Sports Therapist

I have worked in Sport, Exercise and Injury Management for over 18 years, inside a large public sector organisation, professional sport and for the last 2 years as an independent consultant delivering training and programmes to the private  and voluntary sectors. I have a wide range of sports injury and exercise management  experience across areas such as acute treatment, exercise on prescription and physiotherapy referrals. I also have extensive experience across a range of patients and conditions from heart related to weight management to special populations. This includes soft tissue and deep tissue treatment modalities, massage and developmental work.

I always use a person centred approach and I have worked with many different clients with a variety of issues and have used rehabilitation programmes, exercise programmes and technology to help identify and address the client's needs. While working in professional football at Peterborough United I delivered functional fitness programmes and worked pitch side as a physiotherapist. I also offered pre and post match massage and rehabilitation work under the direction of the club physiotherapist.

I am a qualified teacher and have delivered sports injury courses at level 2 and level 3 , along with sports injury modules as part of other sports courses. I have also delivered and assessed exercise, healthy living and diet/nutrition programmes as part of gym/PT courses at PSC Lilleshall and Stafford College. I also deliver pre-hospital care CPD and the full suite of first aid qualifications, including the new modules following the international resuscitation council guideline updates.

I always strive to improve practice and to support this I have looked at my own continuous professional development. I always research subjects thoroughly to make sure I am as current as possible. I attend development events and deliver continuous professional development on behalf of an awarding organisation
