IF YOUR HEART’S SPARK PLUGS AND VALVES FAIL, YOU GET AN ENGINE BLOW OUT

In my last book I talked about the heart-mind link and the brain cells within the heart. In my Body volume I will just briefly mention that this organ is a pump. The pacemaker sparks the beat, and this electricity is then conducted through the heart and cells within the atrioventricular node, which slows down the contraction in order to allow an emptying of the atria to happen before the ventricle.

The heart strings pull the valves shut to allow the heart to fill, and open to allow blood through. When the aortic valve opens, the blood rushes out. The electric resonance allows our hearts to beat with a rhythm necessary for oxygenating our body at different levels of activity, and it can be measured by ECG electrocardiogram, a first-line diagnostic test used by paramedics.
